Admission & Application
A formal background in Economics is convenient but not strictly necessary. We also accept applicants whose major is not Economics. In the past, we have admitted engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and sociologists, and they all succeeded. The program does require some formal analytical skills (mathematics, statistics, econometrics) as we make a strong quantitative emphasis. Have a look at past master's theses to get a sense of the level.

We recommend starting this process as soon as possible, as it takes time.
During pre-registration you will be asked to upload your "Spanish Average Equivalent Grade." Follow the steps at the UPV/EHU equivalence calculator.

The university does not discriminate between EU and non-EU citizens; fees are the same for everyone. The Basque Government announces tuition fees each June, before registration begins. The exact amount will be approximately €2,000 but varies slightly by year, including fees for official transcripts and diploma.
